One of the most entertaining and captivating series launched in 2022, The Tourist, starring Jamie Dornan and Danielle Macdonald in lead roles, is leaving HBO Max.
The series has found a new home for both the first and second seasons, with the latter set to be released on February 29, 2024.
In the first season, BBC was a co-producer, as was HBO Max. We kept avoiding the series, not very convinced until now of Jamie’s talents :D. In the end, we pressed play and didn’t let it go until the end. Jamie Dornan, best known for his roles in the Fifty Shades of Grey series, plays the role of an amnesiac Irishman, awakened in a hospital in Australia, pursued by death at every turn. Before it catches up to him, he must discover who he is to have a chance at survival.
In season 2, the action moves to Ireland, still with Elliot (Dornan) and Chambers (Macdonald). Here, the two must face a rivalry between two dangerous families.
Release Date: The Tourist
The first season of ‘The Tourist’ will be available on Netflix starting February 1, 2024, and the new episodes from season 2 will be available starting February 29.
BBC retains the rights to ‘The Tourist’ series in the UK, where it was one of the most-watched productions in 2023. Netflix holds exclusive rights to both seasons of ‘The Tourist’ outside the UK.
